These 3 And The Things They Say

Marin.
While putting together mouse trap game. A game that she and I have played together, but Ian has not so he has never had the job of assembling it. It has an involved set up, which is he totally capable of doing, but Marin was getting a little impatient.
Marin said "Mommy we need your help."
Ian said "Your Daddy is a man and an engineer I can put it together myself."
Marin's response: "Okay fine then do your man thing."

While disobeying one day shortly after getting her ears pierced by touching her ears (not supposed to touch them while they are healing).
Coming in part way through the conversation...
Marin: "I'll just put toilet paper on my ears."
Ian: "Marin don'ttouch your ears, don't put toilet paper on your ears, don't put tape on your ears, don't touch you ears, don't do anything with your ears."
Marin: "I think I am doing something with my ears..."
Ian: "Marin don't touch your ears!"
Marin: (In a super sweet voice) "I am doing something with my ears, I am listening to you."
Ian: (In a slightly defeated voice) "Yes that is true, that is the one thing you are allowed to do with them."

While in the bath one evening.
Marin: "Dad, when will I get those swim things mom has under her shirt? Right here." (Touches chest)
Ian: "Ahh..." (Not really sure what to say)
Marin: "I call them dukees."
As I walk into the bathroom. "Mom show daddy your Dukees!"

Other things she says. "I just watched the show inside my head." or "My tummy is getting full, I will switch to my other tummy." wiggles body around "Ahh, better, now I have room for dessert."

Corban.
While on the toilet. "My pee is golden. It is like treasure!"
While wearing 3D glasses. "When I put these gasses (glasses) on everything yooks (looks) rainbowy." As he tilts his head from side to side with a look of aww and wonder on his face.

While eating breakfast with our small group on Friday (like Sunday). He was eating a hard boiled egg and when he got to the yolk inside he exclaimed "There is cheese inside!"

While talking with Ian and Marin about what the kids wanted to be when they grow up. Ian asked "Corban what do you want to be when you grow up?" "A big guy, with no soos (soother/pacifier)." He replied.

While saying goodbye to our friend after dinner one night.
Corban: "What is your name?"
Brian (who was wearing a nice yellow shirt): "Brian"
Corban: "That is too much yellow for a man to wear."
All the adults burst out laughing...

Jeriah.
The way he says some words.
Zebra = Zeebee
Gecko = Geeko
Look = wook
Leaves = weaves
bathroom = baffoom
Mountains = Maatins
Marin = Mawin
Corban = Cohbin
Ryhmes with mush, Pushles = Puzzles
He also says "Eww Gross!" at both appropriate, like when I am changing his poopy diaper and inappropriate, like when he is eating dinner, times.
He can also be head saying this "No mine, yet (let) go, yet go!" I am sure you can figure out when he uses that!

He loves to do the actions to "If your happy and you know it".

While doing some yard work one afternoon, Marin asked "What is this?" and showed Ian.
"That is a tomato," said Ian, "Where did you get that from?"
"From Jeriah." she said. Ian looked over at the garden to see Jeriah at the tomato plants.
"Jeriah! What are you doing in the garden!" Ian called as he went over to him.
Looking startled, but oh so cute, he held up a tomato and said "Apple, apple." He had picked 4 partially ripe tomatoes and taken a bite out of every one of them.

Singing Happy Birthday to Ian.

In the below slide show you will see:
-Marin and Corban playing playdoh, note the modified dinosaurs with fairy wings that have been attached using playdoh.
-Marin making glowering lion faces out in the backyard
-Marin with her recycled art creations at her K2 finale assembly.
-Corban being Corban, can you see the twinkle in that boy's eyes, what a kid!
-Corban crashed out on the couch after a morning at the beach.
-Corban at the KAUST marina.
-Marin and Corban looking down one of the ladders for fish in the water.
-Jeriah watching his big sis and bro.
-Jeriah on the table, pretty pleased with himself.
-Jeriah with a book.
-Jeriah playing with some of the dinosours.
-Jeriah trying to get close to the camera and see himself on the screen. I had flipped it out and turned it around so he could see himself while I was taking his picture.

3 x 3

Three things about each of our three kids.
Jeriah:
1. He can say bye, and it is (of course) totally cute. He dosen't say it quietly he exclaims quite loudly "bah! bah! bah!" and waves his little hand, the whole time flashing a huge grin.  He knows the morning routine, I take Marin to school, and he is usually still in his high chair finishing his breakfast. When we are by the door getting our sandals on he is calling to us "Bah! bah! bah!" and waving away.
2. He is a little climber, every chance he gets he climbs up onto to the kitchen stool, and as you can see he is pretty pleased about his success. He is also working on learning how to walk up/climb the stairs by holding onto the railing and taking the steps with his feet, no crawling for him. I find this quite funny in a cute way, because the the top of each step comes to above his knees. He can actually manage it though which is impressive I think.
3. He loves spending time out in the backyard. We have been working in our gardens and making a sand box area for the kids. When he sees Ian, Marin and Corban out there while I am getting him and myself ready to go out he gets excited every time I walk toward the back door, and upset every time I walk away from it. When outside he has a grand time playing in the sand, walking around the yard with a stick or whatever "treasure" he finds and he thinks is to so fun when the sprinklers come on and he toddles around the yard giggling.

Marin:
1. This past week Marin's class went on a field trip to the fire station. She asked if I was able to come and was really excited when I told her that I could. She made sure to tell her classmates when we got there "that is my mom, and my brother, his name is Corban". When is was time for Corban and I to leave she gave me a big hug goodbye, this promoted some of her little friends to give me a hug too, I got 5 hugs.  :)
2. She has been learning Bible memory verses, and man does she have a good memory! Every few days we add a new verse and she is always able to recite all the ones she has learned previously.
3. She loves her little brothers, she helps Jeriah brush his teeth, she makes silly faces to make him laugh when he is upset about something, she tickles him and looks out for him by telling us when she sees him getting into trouble. She and Corban are good little playmates and they have been playing lots of playdoh, dress up, and out in the backyard making "worm houses", and spraying each other with the water hose.

Corban:
1. Poo-poo jokes are still totally hilarious to him. When I read him the book "Goodnight Moon" and I read the lines "And a comb and a brush and bowl full of mush, and a quiet old lady who was whispering hush." I always let him say the last word hush. He has now taken to saying poo-poo, and bursts out laughing every time.
2. He has gone through another growth spurt with his vocabulary. His sentences are longer and fuller and he is using bigger words. The other day after doing his business on toilet, he took a look in the pot, then turned and look at me and said "Whoa, that is a way big poo-poo, that is awesome". I of course started laughing.
3. He had loads of fun tagging along on the field trip to the fire station, he got to participate too and of course was curious about everything, checking out all the trucks and equipment.

A tiny kid list.

1. Jeriah has his first tooth! It popped out today.
2. Corban's latest thing when I ask him to come for lunch or, tell him it is time to go to such and such a place is to tell me "I too beesy mom."
3. Marin's art work these days is so much fun, and the explanations behind them are great. This for example is a "strawberry tree", you'll notice the top branch is missing it's berry. It was really big and ripe and it fell off, see it on the ground. The object beside it is a wagon coming to pick up the fallen berry. The six lines at the bottom are the roots of the tree.
They are cute!
Cute!
And lots more cute! And they are keeping me beesy!

A list about the cute kiddos.

1. Corban thinks that wearing Ian's glasses is really funny (and it is) every time he puts them on he gets a goofy grin on his face, looks up at me and says "cheeeeeese."

2. Marin has been calling the shuttle bus here in the neighborhood a "shuffle bus".

3. Corban likes to point out whenever he sees a "cleeock" (clock) and he knows there are both digital and analog.

4. There are little gecko like creatures that live here. Corban gets so excited when he sees one, he runs after them calling "goko, goko!"

5.Marin's current favorite song is the "Easter Bunny Hop" from the Veggietales Easter CD.
(Apparently we are a little confused with what time of year it is...)

6. One of Corban's latest words is hot, he doesn't fully understand it though. When he starts to eat a meal he puts a bit of food in his mouth and no matter what it is or what temperature it is he says "ot, ot!" We blow in it for him and then it is okay to eat.

7. Marin has been playing Doctor a lot, she checks our eyes, ears, throats, reflexes, and gives us a needle. If she is checking me she pretends to do an ultrasound on my tummy.

8. Corban has started calling Ian and I mommy and daddy he still uses mama and dada too though.

9. I love watching Corban play like this.

10. The other night at bedtime we had read the Little Critter story "When I get bigger". Afterwords Marin looked up at me and said "If you and Daddy were not here in the house, and just Corban and I were, I would take care of Corban." It melted my heart, Ian and I told her how happy it made us to hear her say that she would look out for her little brother. Then she told us that she would feed him. I asked her what she would feed him. She thought for a bit, but didn't come up with anything, so I suggested Cheerios. She thought that was a good idea, but then she started to wonder how she would get him into his high chair... minor details, minor details.

11. Corban is still very interested in bugs, the other day he spotted a spider in the house. "Bug, bug!" he yelled excitedly and pointed to it. I went to check it out with him. He then ran to the toys in the living room and grabbed one of the shoes from Marin's teddy bear and headed back to hunt the spider.

12. Last night there was another party, this time it was held at the park and there were blow-up bouncy castles, pony rides, face painting, clowns, people dressed as Disney characters and all sorts of fun things. As we were eating dinner before going, I realized that we hadn't told Marin that we were going out to the party, or " shin-dig" as she calls them. So I said to her, "Did you know we are going out to a shin-dig at the park tonight?"
She looked up at me and said "Yes, God told me there was going to be a shin-dig."
Ian then asked her if God had also told her that she needed to listen well to what we told her to do while at the shin-dig.
"Yes He mentioned that." she replied.

13. Marin's favorite part of the "shin-dig" was the bouncy castles.
She also got a chance to sit in the big fire truck.

14. Corban's favorite part of the "shin-dig" was the pony rides.

Five things I like about being a Mom.

2 days short of a months ago Jen tagged me with a meme, "Five things I like about being a Mom." It has taken me this long to get to it not because I needed that long to come up with five things, but because life over here has not been exactly normal. Which you all know if you've been paying any attention to this here blog. :)
I always knew I wanted to be a mom, and I really do love it! I can think of nothing else I'd rather do, and I mean that.
So onto Five things I like about being about mom:
(I am putting random pictures in this post from the last 3 times we went to the park with the camera.)
1) I love sharing these 3 cute little people with Ian, and knowing that he loves them just as much as I do. That together we will raise them, enjoy them and support them and each other.
2) I love knowing that God chose me to be their mother and Ian to be their father. That He gave us these 3 sweet little ones to us.
3) I love watching Marin and Corban play together, to hear them laugh at each other and to see them working together to do something.
4) I love snuggling in bed with them in the morning, giving them tickles and hearing them giggle.
(Let me just add that I am not as big a fan of this if they wake up before 6:00am.)
5) I love that they each have their own personality, likes, and dislikes, but I also like seeing where they are similar. It will be fun to see how Baby Foulds #3 will fit in.
So now I am done that list and I still have many more pictures left so I will write a "kid list".
1) Marin used such grown up phrases sometimes times and it makes me laugh. Examples: "That's just nonsense" and "If you insist".
2) When we told Marin she was going to be a big sister again she got a big smile on her face, but looked a little confused. We asked her if she knew what that meant. She said "Yes I am going to be big big."
3) They both love to go on outings, to playgroup and on little adventures. When I say okay guys lets go and head to the door they both run over and grab their shoes, and Corban does his little happy dance. Then they stand eagerly by the door waiting for me to open it. As soon as I do they burst out and look for the sticks they left outside the door from our last walk.
4) When I say to Marin "You are the cutest girl I know" she replies with "You are the cutest Mommy I know."
5) Today Marin and I were talking about Baby Foulds #3, she would like a little sister. I asked her if it would be okay if we had a baby brother, she said no a sister. Hmm, so I explained to her that when she was in my tummy we didn't know if she was going to be a boy or a girl and then she was born and God gave us a little girl. Then I told her the same for Corban, but that God gave us a baby boy. I told her that God made the decision and that he always makes good decision. Her response, "God decided on a baby girl."
6) Corban has been really enjoying the Praise Baby DVDs we have, he sits on the couch and points to pretty much everything that comes on the screen asking "Dat? dat?"
7) We have a baby gate downstairs blocking the kids (Corban) from getting to the front entrance, kitchen and bathroom. When Ian comes home they both run over to it. Marin yells "Daddy!!" and Corban yells "Dah!!" As Corban is running over he does his happy dance and then peeks over the edge of the gate. They both stand there waiting for big hugs, it is really cute!
8) Marin has been eating really well for quite a while now, she likes salads, especially Caesar, she loves the croutons. She loves her carrot sticks and cucumber slices too with "dip-it" (ranch dressing). She loves green beans too, actually she really isn't fussy at all and will eat most anything.
9) Corban has taken a liking to helping with the laundry in the past few days. He takes the clothes out of the dryer and puts them into a basket for me. He thinks helping is really neat and gets a big grin on his face after every item he puts in the basket.
10) Corban's current favorite books are "Polar Bear, Polar Bear what do you hear?", "Panda Bear, Panda Bear what do you see?" and "Brown Bear, Brown Bear what do you see?" He will read them to himself too and when he does he flips that pages saying "rah, rah, rah." just like we would say the syllables for the words.

So there are my 2 little lists and a bunch of pictures of our cute kids. :)

Oh yeah I almost forgot I am supposed to tag 5 people to make a "Five things I like about being a Mom." list too. So I tag...
Jay
Belky
Heather
Rachel
Elizabeth
If you've already been tagged with this meme and I have forgotten, sorry. :)

Kid List Time.

1. A couple nights ago we had finished dinner and were still sitting at the table, I got up to get something and Corban started fussing and crying. It was a forced, fake cry. I said to him "Dude, I don't know who has a "better" fake cry you, or your sister." Marin piped up, "Mine!"
2. Corban has a thing for shoes, he is always trying to get into the front closet and get them out. When I am doing laundry he always searches for the socks. The boy is all about foot coverings.
3. Marin will sometimes call Corban "Corby", or "Cor" she says "Hey there Cor" or "Hey little brother Corby" .
4. Corban got his first pair of "real" shoes.
(to see them click here, they are this style, but all blue with a bit of red and red stitching)
We took him (and Marin too) to the park on Sunday and he tested them out.
He thought it was pretty neat!
But then he tripped, he got his hands out to stop his fall in time, but his back end had too much momentum and he face planted and got road rash on his little nose. :(
4.The other day Marin was listening to some of her VeggieTales, the lyrics of the song were about walking with God and walking by faith. She was thinking about this and said "But God can't walk." Ian asked her "Why not sweetie?" To which she reply "God is a spirit and he doesn't have any feet." We then tried to explain to her that it was a metaphor and what the song was talking about. She still maintains that God has no feet. She is cute.
5. Every morning when I brush my teeth Corban insists that I hold him. When he sees that I have my toothbrush he gets excited and walks or crawls as fast as he can to me. If I don't pick him up he gets upset and stands by me and pulls at my pants. As soon as I pick him up he is happy as a clam and watches me brush. Maybe he'll be a dentist...
6. Marin loves the Backyardagins and she likes to sing along with them. She also will sing the songs while she is playing with her stuffys, just recently though she has started making up her own words to some of the songs. Very cute.
7.Corban loves to go down the slide at the park, I put him at the top and catch him at the bottom, but the rest he does all on his own. He smiles and laughs it is really cute. :)

5 Cute Things.

1. Last Sunday we went for a visit to (Great) Granny & Grandpa Foulds, as we were getting ready to leave Marin requested to wear her Sunglasses. We gave them to her and she put them on, it wasn't sunny out and so when we got outside we could tell that she was having a bit of trouble seeing. I asked her if she was sure she wanted to wear them, she told me yes, "so that my eyes don't get cold".
2. Corban and his Great Grandpa Foulds.
Great Grandpa (and Granny) are always so happy see Corban (and Marin). Great Grandpa has the biggest smile when he holds Corban he gives him kisses and pats on the head while saying "I sure am glad we got this littl guy". 3. Marin came up to me the other day while I was changing Corban's diaper, she said to me "I am Mary and you are Joseph, Monkey (her favorite stuffy) is baby Jesus". I played along, she then said to me, "Hold on I will go get a picture of us." She ran out of the room to her bedroom and returned shortly with a book, she flipped though it to the page with a picture of a manger scene on it and said "See, here we are."
4. Corban loves to hang out with Ian while he plays guitar. The other night Corban did some playing of his own. video
5. Ian and Marin were singing the abc song one night before bed, just as they passed the l m n o p part of the song she stoped him and told him "No Daddy it is elo-melo-p."

What the kids are up to.

It's about time for a kid list I think. :)
1. Corban loves it when Ian plays guitar for him, their evening routine is for Corban to have naked tummy time before his bath while Ian plays to him. Marin also enjoys this time and will often pretend that the guitar stand is a microphone and sing into it.
2. Marin is still loving the Backyardigins, she likes the episode where they have a tea party and she sings part of the song. Take a listen, it's super cute!
video
3. Corban LOVES the computer mouse.
See.
video
4. Marin is really good at puzzles, she can do this one all by herself.
5. Corban is a really snugly little boy, he lets me know he wants to snuggle by grabbing my cheeks with his cute chubby hands and pulling our faces together and slobbering on my cheeks. Such a sweet boy. :)
6. The other day we were heading to the playground after supper and as we left the house we were greeted by the unpleasant smell of our neighbor's cooking, Marin pipes up " What is that smell? It smells like honey cakes, no... umm... poop, it smells like poop." Ian and I had a good laugh.
7. Corban is loving his tummy time he is starting to slide his knees up and sticking his bum in the air, he could be on the move sooner rather than later, we shall see.
Of course he would not do it while I was taking a video, but he is still cute so take a look.
video
8. Marin likes to make pretend cameras and then asks me to say "cheese" so she can take a picture of me.
See. (I realized afterwords that when I think she is asking to put her camera in my camera that what she is really talking about is the lens cap.)
video
9. Corban is really working on sitting, his forward and backward control is really good. The other day I had him sitting against me while I was laying on the floor playing with the kids and a few times he was sitting completely unsupported.
video
10. Corban started eating cereal about 2 weeks ago now and he really likes it, and for someone his age he is pretty neat. He is also quite demanding and if I don't get the spoon in his mouth fast enough he squawks and flaps his arms like a baby bird.
11. They totally love each other. Corban laughs at Marin and Marin will do what ever he likes to make him laugh. If Corban is in his bed napping and we hear though the monitor make a little whimper or noise Marin will ask "Is Corban awake now?" When he is awake and it is time to go get him she likes to be the first to go in to see him. I usually let her go in for a few minutes first and they play in Corban's crib for a bit and then I go get both of them.
They are so cute!

Kid List Time.

1. Ian has a cold right now, (Boo!) and this morning he blew his nose quite loudly, Marin was close by and asked him
"Daddy are you playing the bagpipes?"
She has been talking quite a bit about bagpipes since Ian's convocation. Funny kid.
2. She helped me make these muffins yesterday, she likes to stir and put the muffin cups in the tins, she is my little helper.
3. She is getting more and more creative and her imagination puts all sorts of things together from shows she watches on TV and books we read. Today she came up to me holding "Little white bear" and said, "See Little white bear is wearing his roller skates." Which were hair clips that she had clipped to his feet. I asked her if I could take a picture, she said yes.
Posted by Picasa
4. Corban is nearing 4 months, and is such a fun little man. He still loves his gym and is gaining more and more control of his hands learning to make them do what he wants them to do.
5. He loves going for walks, well more like rides in the stroller, and looking around at all the trees and people, or Marin when she is running ahead of the stroller.
6. He likes to have books read to him, he stares up at the pages and wiggles and lets out the occasional happy gurgle.
7. He laughs when we tickle him and it is the cutest.

A List with Picutres!

So the pictures in this post have nothing really to do with the list of cute things Marin has said other than the fact that Marin is in the pictures.
The pictures are from a couple weeks back when we had a day when the weather was actually hot. We packed up and headed to the park and lazed around in the shade.
Marin has a great imagination and will play for hours happily, she talks away and makes her stuffys have conversations with each other, it so fun to watch and listen. She is also really good with letters, she can identify every letter in the alphabet and tell you what her name, Corban's, Ian's and my name start with as well as what Mommy and Daddy start with. She has moved onto trying to learn the lower case letters, but hasn't gotten the hang of that yet, so far she just thinks it is the actual size of the letter that makes the difference. She is always asking us though "what letter is this?" and if it is upper case then she tells us.
She is such a fun, smart little girl and it is wonderful to watch her learn.
Anyway the list:
1. We are on an ongoing "hunt" for a duffel bag for Ian, not too big, not too small, blah, blah, blah. Anyway the other day we got into the van to go to the store and Marin asked, "We are going to get a buffalo bag for Daddy?"
2. In the morning after breakfast is when I dress Marin for the day, I said to her the other day "Okay sweetie lets go upstairs and get you dressed." Her response was "I want to wear my jammies for alllll time."
3. She calls fridge magnets "maggots".
4. A while back I was heading out to go grocery shopping (by myself), I had said bye to Ian, Marin and Corban and as I was getting my shoes on Marin waved to me from the living room and said "Bye sweetie."
5. Marin was playing with Ian the other day and she was pretending that her stuffys were going to the potty (I wish she would do the same...). She had made Pooh Bear "go" on the potty and informed Ian that "it smells like green."
6.Today before lunch Marin was playing in the living room, she was taking some pieces of wood (the dividers/organizers for our entertainment center drawer that we are not using at the moment) out from the couch where we have them stored. She looked over to me and announced " I am putting up some wood so I can build an ark!" Then later she came into the kitchen to tell me that "it was going to flood."
Okay so Marin's not in the last picture... it is what I see when I look down while carrying Corban in the Bjorn.

So that is the latest on the cute girl, she is wonderful and we love her. :)

Hope you all are enjoying your weekends.
