Move #1 done.

So we moved on May 7th, and would like to say a
BIG
HUGE
THANK YOU
to my brothers Michael and Mark for coming to help us move and also to my parents for letting us borrow the truck so the boys could take a load of our stuff back to Salmon Arm to store and to mom for sending dinner and dessert to feed us all the day we moved.
The move went smoothly and we are now settled into our rental. We only took the stuff with us to the rental that we will be using between now and our big move. We aren't going to go through the effort of hanging pictures here, so our walls look a little bare, but it is only going to be for 2 months.
Yesterday morning we went to the notary to do the official sign off on our house. It is kinda strange not to be living there anymore. Ian and I lived there for 7 years. I think what we miss the most is the area we lived, all the parks and everything so close by. We'll have that back once we get to KAUST though!
We don't have an official move date yet, but we are aiming for July 15th.
That is 2 months and 2 days from now!!!
There is a lot to be done between now and then, I started making a massive "to do list"!

And so this post isn't completely lacking in cuteness, here are a couple pictures and a video of Marin and Corban playing with playdoh for the last time at our old place.
They have been really enjoying it lately and can spend up to an hour playing together with it. Once they are done there is a massive mess, and Corban usually requires a clean set of clothes, but oh well.
I like how they interact with each other in this video, they are working on sharing and for the most part to a pretty good job.

The Before & Afters.

Finally here are the before and after pictures of all our organizing efforts.

The living room, now living room/office.
The computer is in the unit beside the TV. When it is use we just use one of the dinning room chairs to sit on and the top portion of the cabinet open up as work space. The 3 big drawers underneath are great for storage.
The bottom of the TV bench also has a big drawer excellent for storage. In the shelves above the drawer there is the DVD player on one side and the other side is a basket for toys. You'll also notice that the picture above the TV has not moved and is off center. The off center doesn't bother me like I thought it would, but we just left it there becuase once Baby Foulds #2 arrives we would like to get a picture of both our kiddos together replace it with.
Before on the left and after on the the right.
This is Marin's new "book-nook".
It is in the living room to the left of the fireplace in the above pictures. Before, it was a useless hole that was supposed to be for firewood. Ian put in a built-in bookshelf that we measured and made sure would allow for the basket (storage for more toys!) dimensions below it. Marin has some books there (obviously) and there is a spot for puzzles too. The basket underneath is still empty, but I am thinking of using it for the place to put toys for the Baby when he or she gets a bit older.
I love it!
The office space, now nursery area, in the corner of our bedroom.
In the before office pictures, the computer has already been removed but I am sure you get the idea. Also it is a disaster becuase I had already begun going through all the junk there to organize it.
Before on the left and after on the the right.
Our bedroom.
This is the space that was/is on the other side of the office now nursery area.
Marin's bedroom.
All the small stuffys are now in the "fishy tunnel", as Marin calls it, so just big stuffys are out on the futon. It is much easier to keep it "neat" now that they are not all loose.
Before is the top left and after are the other 2 pictures.
Marin also now has a doll bed for her babies, it was mine when I was little. :)
The shelf/drawer unit now in the corner of her room was originally in the office, we took the wheels off the bottom of it and now it is a great little bookshelf and has drawers for puzzles and her memory game. The purple storage tub is for her doll accessories.
She also now has a dresser for her clothes instead of the basket we had before and also a little table for her coloring and stickers (she loves to play with stickers!)
So there you have it.
We are happy with the way it all turned out, I think it will work.
