11/12/13 The Day We Say Goodbye

Goodbye Saudi Arabia, goodbye KAUST, goodbye dear friends we leave behind.

It is difficult to put into words, the past 4 1/2 years. The beginning was such a struggle, I would have gone home in an instant (I was 8 months pregnant and couldn't fly in and airplane, and then I had a newborn without a passport, leaving was not an option.)
We made some amazing friends here and grew to love our KAUST family and our home, and although we still love them, (and so many that have already moved on to new places), it is now our time to go. It has been sad to watch others leave, but being the ones leaving is harder.
We went from a family of 4 to a family of 6, Marin and Corban were so young when we came that this is there home and all they really know. The kids are sad to leave, and worried about the big change, Ian and I know what to expect, but we are going to have some adjustments too.
God taught us so much here, and we are so thankful to have had the opportunity to come and live here. Ian and I know the lessons learned here in the dessert have prepared us for what is to come. We are looking forward with excitement to moving to Kelowna, and trust God with it all.

The Desert Song
By Hillsong

Verse 1:
This is my prayer in the desert
When all that's within me feels dry
This is my prayer in my hunger and need
My God is a God who provides

Verse 2:
And this is my prayer in the fire
In weakness or trial or pain
There is a faith proved
Of more worth than gold
So refine me Lord through the flames

Chorus:
And I will bring praise
I will bring praise
No weapon formed against me shall remain

I will rejoice
I will declare
God is my victory and He is here

Verse 3:
And this is my prayer in the battle
When triumph is still on it's way
I am a conqueror and co-heir with Christ
So firm on His promise I'll stand

Bridge:
All of my life
In every season
You are still God
I have a reason to sing
I have a reason to worship

Verse 4:
This is my prayer in the harvest
When favor and providence flow
I know I'm filled to be emptied again
The seed I've received I will sow
