Bits of the Kids.

Things have changed for the kids and I, since moving into our rental. We are away from all our regular activities (which would now have ended for summer break anyway) and our familiar parks and surroundings.
We've been keeping occupied though, we go exploring at SFU, walking around the grounds and running through the big wide, long hallways (the kids not me) and have even taken in the opening ceremony of a random convocation.
We've been hanging out at home too just relaxing on a hot afternoon. Marin has been enjoying freezies, or as she calls them "icies".
Corban likes them too, kind of, he usually has a few tastes off the top of mine and makes the "Oooh that is cold face" each time. What he really likes is to play with the empty wrapper once I am done though. Funny kid.
They have been playing really nicely together to lately too and I hope that is something that continues. Usually I know that their happy playing will result in a massive mess of toys, but I can't have everything.
In the past few weeks Corban has taken a real liking to giraffes. He calls them "gafff". He gravitates to all the giraffe toys we have, I am now more aware of how many there actually are. When he plays with the Fisher Price Noah's Ark he always has at least one of the giraffes in his hand. He also loves to drag around a giraffe stuffy we have from IKEA, tonight he even went looking for it in the stuffy bin before bedtime and hauled it out and took it to bed with him.
On the topic of giraffes, Marin came up with a line the other day while playing that I thought was funny. She was playing with Ian and she had one of the Noah's ark giraffes, she said to him (speaking for the giraffe) "I am super girl giraffe! I can fly!" Ian asked her how she (the giraffe) was able to do that. "I got a brown helicopter from Zellers." was her reply. Huh, I did not know...

The other day on a hot morning, I packed the kids up and we went to check out a new to us water park. This was Corban's first water park experience.
I think at first he thought it was a good idea and after watching the other kids headed in.
Then he realized that big drops of cold water were landing on him and had a different thought, and came running back to me.
Marin on the other hand went running,
and running,
and LOVED it!
Corban decided that it would be just as much fun to stand along the side in the occasional mist the wind brought over and hold onto some sticks that he found.
And of course look tough doing it.
I had to snap a close up of his totally cute little feet in his first pair of sandals.
I don't really know how to end this post so how about I just show you 2 more pictures of our cute children. :)
There I am done. :)

That water park looks like so much fun! That is great to hear that the kids are playing well together. Nothing warms my heart more than when the kids can get along well. The mess......not so much.

Kristin the album is great :) I laughed out loud at the look on Corban's face as he hightailed it out of the waterpark, and I love the closeups of a wet and happy Marin, and of Corban's toes! Glad to see you're enjoying your interum apartment and it's surroundings, lol :)
